Tehreek-i-Taliban launches website

PESHAWAR: The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan on Saturday launched its website hosting videos, a magazine, and its leaders’ interviews and statements.
A news release issued by the information and publication wing of the TTP said Umar Media had sponsored the website, which would serve as the central information portal of the outfit.
The TTP was declared a banned outfit in August 2008.
“Statements, videos, announcements and magazine released by the TTP will be available on the website,” the release said.
It added that Umar Media was the only authorised body to issue messages and statements of the TTP. The website carries e-mail addresses of central spokesman of TTP Shahidullah Shahid and other sections.
The website has been launched during peace talks between the federal government and the TTP.
Recently, the government had released 19 prisoners as good well gesture to the TTP.
The website contains the TTP flag, verses from the Holy Quran, statements and videos containing sectarian, hate and propaganda material, especially against security forces, a message of TTP deputy Shaikh Khalid Haqqani for the people of Balochistan, and pictures of slain TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud and his successor and current chief Maulvi Fazlullah.
Also posted on the website are pictures of houses allegedly bombed by the army, details of the TTP position on the current peace process and information about the recent assassination of TTP leader Asmatullah Shaheen in North Waziristan Agency.
The website invites articles for posting on it for public information.
Umar Media was launched a few years ago and has been disseminating the TTP-related information and videos since.

Anyone who knows a little bit of Tech will agree with me that Any website could be traced in an accurate in a couple of minutes or even seconds. You can exactly tell the location of the user with full accuracy.
Even when i am commenting here, Dawn news administrator and intel agencies could locate me in seconds. So If someone is telling me that Taliban can use such website without government or dark forces agreement then it would be a lie.
If the Balochistan Liberation Army and Other Baloch, Ahmedi and even Shia websites could be traced and blocked in Pakistan then how come Taliban website and even the twitter accounts of Taliban commanders are working properly??. Why Pakistani people are forced to recognize that some type of Collusion is going on within the government to protect such groups?

By holding talks with them, releasing some of their prisoners, and even considering to provide them a 'peacefull area' so they can move freely, the government has already demonstrated its willingness to legitimise this so-called 'banned' organisation. The next step may be to induct a couple of Ministers from TTP in the federal cabinet. We shouldn't be surprised if this happens soon. After all, "they are our brothers, only a little 'misguided!' "

Even if Pakistan bans it, the website will still be able to be seen outside of Pakistan where they can recruit non-Pakistanis and promote themselves to their sympathizers to get more funding, also i believe even if it is banned in Pakistan people still may be able to view it from a proxy server.

Youtube gets blocked the moment it has some silly content, yet these people who are actively spewing hate against Pakistan can openly propagate this information through the Internet to our readers. Given our media is scared out of its wits against the TTP, this is another psychological warfare boost for the TTP.
Without a shadow of doubt, Pakistan has the World's most useless and ineffective counter-militancy strategy.
